Community Partnerships
We believe that being a good neighbor means showing up, getting involved, and being an active member of a community.
In 1988, we established the Vulcan Materials Company Foundation to support groups that focus on education, community diversity and enrichment, land conservation, and wildlife habitat conservation in the regions where we operate.
In California alone, we work with over 100 local schools, nonprofits, and other charitable organizations annually. In Elk Grove, we are proud partners of Elk Grove Food Bank Services and its School Food Pantry Program.
Environmental Stewardship
We believe that environmentally responsible, sustainable operations drive long-term positive results and benefit our communities.
We work with land managers, geologists, engineers, hydrologists, cultural resources specialists, and both elected and community representatives to ensure our sites exceed all local, state, and federal regulations.
But we know environmental sustainability goes beyond doing what is required by regulators. At every Vulcan site, we are focusing on reducing our carbon footprint, increasing energy efficiency, measuring and minimizing water use, reducing waste, and promoting biodiversity.
